Ashley’s writing explores themes of grief, mental illness, love, and the inevitable sass that comes from surviving them all. She is a poet and is currently in the editing phase of her first collection of poetry. Ashley holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology and Anthropology, and a minor in English from the University of Prince Edward Island, as well as a Masters in Social Work from Carleton University. She is inspired by writers such as Lorna Crozier, Steven Heighton, Al Purdy, Miriam Toews, Margaret Atwood, Barbara Kingsolver and Micheal Crummey. She lives in Cobden, Ontario, with her partner, Conor, and they hope to one day open a bookstore.
